Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
Did you know that God created you exactly how He wanted you? There is no flaw within you. You are beautifully crafted in His image and amazing inside and out.
This truth can be hard to receive for some. I’ve been there, questioning and doubting my worth, beauty, and identity. I’ve spent countless hours looking in the mirror, wishing He had made me a little different. It sounds silly to admit out loud, but I think many of you could relate.
Some of us were born with abnormalities, asymmetry, or health concerns. Some of us feel unconfident in our bodies and wish we looked a specific way. Some of us feel fine physically, but we feel insecure about the way we think (or overthink) and wonder why we are the way we are internally.
Trust me when I say, I have struggled with all of this, and sometimes I still do. But what I’ve learned for myself is that God’s word is truth. His truth is written for me to live by. I can’t pick and choose which verses I believe in, so I must open myself to receive and believe in what His word says.
Psalm 139:13-14 says:
“For you created my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well.”
The Bible says that God knits us together, internally and externally. God knows every little detail about you better than you do. He knows every hair on your head and every freckle on your cheek. When He sees you, He smiles with pure joy because you are His creation, His children, whom He loves so much!!
So next time you are in the mirror, I want you to speak this truth over yourself: God does not make mistakes. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are chosen. You are royalty. You are loved. You are His!
Journal Prompt:
