The Herd
Levi
Meet Levi! He is my 12 year-old Thoroughbred that I rescued when he was 5. This magnificent creature bounced around from home to home until they were just about ready to send him off to be put down. Nobody wanted him. Then one July evening in 2017, someone shared a Facebook post with me that stated this was his last chance to find a forever home. Something about him caught my attention, even though I knew this would most likely be a project horse. Boy, was I ever right about that!! I went to visit him, and he immediately ran up to me and it was as if he was begging me to take him. He was splashing me with the hose water and trying to sneak a sip of my Mountain Dew. It was then that I just knew he was something special. I went home to pray about it over the weekend, and it was incredible the signs God showed me that I was 100% supposed to rescue this animal. Although it was me that needed rescuing too! The next day, full of peace and joy, I pulled up with the trailer and he jumped right on! Since then, our relationship has grown tremendously, and we have put in the time and work with one another to create a partnership that will last a lifetime. Levi is an LBE (Left-Brain Extrovert) for all my Parelli friends, with tons of personality and playfulness. He is kind, respectful, and most of all willing to be your partner. God uses this animal right here to speak to me every day, and it is my passion to share that same hope and encouragement with you! I hope you get to meet him soon.
Grace
Meet Grace! This buckskin beauty is 14 years old, and the sweetest and most affectionate mare you’ll ever meet! I was blessed to get Grace from a good friend of mine in Louisiana. Since having Grace, she has taught me what it really means to slow down and enjoy every moment of every day. She is never in a rush, and loves to be loved on! She also loves her brother, Levi, and together they both keep me on my toes. While Levi is a playful and more energetic horse, Grace is perfectly content relaxing and eating her food (sort of like me!) This makes sense because she is a LBI, or Left-Brain Introvert, so she thrives on motivation, variety, and rewards! The confidence this horse has is unmatched, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for our future. Grace has a gift of loving on other people, and I think it is because God has created her to have such a sweet and gentle temperament. When I first met Grace, I had the pleasure of watching her in a few sessions during our EAL training. The connection she made with me and so many others makes me so excited for our journey together! The gift of love that Grace carries is truly special. She is the type of horse that continues to amaze you with what she is capable of, and I will be forever grateful God blessed me with her.
Gracie
Meet Gracie girl! She is a Golden Retriever mix and is 9 years old. Gracie has been our family dog for her entire life. My brother brought her home when she was just a small, little pup and then later sent her to live on the farm with me. Even though she is 9, she will forever be my “puppy”! Gracie loves to play with all of her toys and sleep. She has some of the funniest sleeping positions that you wouldn’t believe if I told you! Gracie loves to run around and greet all of the horses. She loves to be outside and will sit with you all day in the sunshine. She also loves snuggling and will 100% lay on top of you, to the point that you can’t breathe. She has always been my therapy dog and has a special gift of knowing when you need lovins. She will kiss your tears away and make you feel so loved! God uses her in my life every day, especially when I need it most.
