Encounters With God
Nothing and no one can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:38)
This has been coming up in my mind a lot this week. I’ve had moments of fear, confusion, and chaos, and I’ve also had moments of joy, peace, and patience. Through it all, I know one thing is for sure, God’s love remains.
The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) I don’t know about you, but this gives me an abundance of peace. I feel overwhelmed with joy knowing that God has never and will never change.
As I sit here and write what’s on my heart, I begin to think about my encounters with God. An encounter is a moment where God shows up for you, and you know it was Him and only Him in your presence. That could look like a lot of things, but some examples could be God speaking to you, you feeling His presence, a miracle happened, you experienced His grace, you accepted Jesus into your heart, you felt Him lead you, He gave you peace, joy, etc. etc.
In the encounters I’ve experienced, God often presents Himself in such a gentle and loving way.
He always shows up in the most perfect moment, in the most perfect way. What I love is that He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what we need and when we need it.
One way God shows up for me is with my horses. There are countless stories and encounters I’ve had with God when being with my horses. I have been in my darkest and deepest valley, and sure enough God prompts my horses to be there for me. He uses them and works through them to get to me. I feel seen, I feel loved, and I feel worthy when He encounters me.
So now I want to ask you, how do you feel when you feel Gods presence? In what ways does He show up for you?
Our God is the God of the mountains and the God of the valleys. Jesus is with you every step of the way and is there to comfort you, lead you, and love you. There is nothing and no one that can ever separate you from the love of God.
Journal Prompt: Have you ever had an encounter with God? Has the Holy Spirit showed up for you in the most perfect timing in the most perfect way? Reflect on that experience.
