God’s Plan
We live in a world where we are told to take control of our lives. We are asked things like, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Or “What college are you going to?” I remember when I was in high school, they put so much pressure on me to decide my future, and in all reality, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Most of us don’t know, especially at a young age.
Maybe you can relate to what I’m saying, and if so, I have great news for you! God has your future entirely planned out!
The Bible says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 29:11
Now, when a lot of us read this verse, we understand that God has a plan for our life. But the main question is, how are we supposed to know what that plan is?
Well, I believe the answer to that lies in what I’m about to say next. God didn’t just make a plan for us; He also gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
If you’ve decided to follow Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you.
This is the greatest gift because, through the Holy Spirit, we have access to God our Father! We can speak directly to Him, and He will lead us and guide us like the amazing Shepherd He is!
He will help you know where to turn, when to stop, and when to go. You will gain discernment and wisdom and become a better decision-maker. Just as a horse looks to their rider for direction, we must also look to our leader for direction as well. This is where the name “Bridled Strength” came from.
One of my favorite verses in the Bible says:
“Whether you walk to the left or to the right, you will hear a voice behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it!” -Isaiah 30:21
I want to encourage you to intentionally listen for that voice behind you. Next time you are facing a fork in the road, pray and ask God to show you the way. Ask Him if you should go left or right. I promise He will never lead you in the wrong direction.
Now, I know it can be hard to trust in His plan for your life, especially when we have the world telling us that it’s up to us to make things happen. But one thing I know that you can always count on is that God’s plan for our life is secure in Him. Our future is secure in Him. He has everything laid out, and our job is to simply follow Him.
Thank you Jesus, for the gift of the Holy Spirit. And for creating a plan for each one of us that was designed to prosper us, and give us hope and a beautiful future! You are so good.
