Let Go and Let God

A lesson that I'm learning right now is that God doesn't always answer our prayers the way we want Him to, or in the timing we want.

While I've known this truth for a long time, it always hits home for me when I'm currently going through it.

I tend to think that I know the best timing for God to answer my prayers. Or sometimes I like to tell God what I think will work out best or what I want to see happen.

While my intention is pure, and I truly want to see God glorified in everything, I find myself trying to take control and do God's job.

Letting go of control and surrendering is something that is tough to do. We think we know what's best, we want to take matters into our own hands, and we don't like to wait for Gods perfect timing.

Someone once told me, "Let Go and Let God." Let me tell you firsthand, that's easier said than done.

But what the Lord has been teaching me the most here recently is that His ways are truly Higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He knows what's best and definitely knows better than I do.

He has a plan for each one of us and I need to lay my requests down, surrender control, and let God do His thing!

The answer to my prayer may not look how I thought it would or in the timing I wanted, but I can rest in the assurance that God will always answer in His most perfect way and His most perfect timing!

Journal Prompt: Do you feel like it's hard to surrender control? Do you struggle to trust God's plan and timing?
