So Will I
Aren’t animals just the best? Whether it’s your pet dog, cat, horse, or bunny, they always know what we need when we need it most.
I can speak on behalf of the dog and horse realm; these animals truly make a difference in my life and bring me so much peace and joy.
I was pondering this thought of why animals can be so therapeutic, and God gave me the most simple and gentle reminder. Let me tell you the story.
I was in the arena at our barn playing with Levi. Just like humans, Levi likes a good tune when he’s working out, so of course, I put on the worship music!
The song So Will I by Hillsong United came on. This song is all about recognizing God, Our Creator, and learning about His character. It encourages us to see God in everything He’s made, in everything He’s done, and declare that if His creation will praise and obey Him, so will I.
The lyrics that get me every time are:
All nature and science
Follow the sound of your voice
And as you speak
A hundred billion creatures catch your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what you said
If it all reveals your nature, so will I
I can see your heart in everything you say
Every painted sky
A canvas of your grace
If creation still obeys you, so will I
God’s gentle reminder for me through this song is that He is the Creator of all things, especially the sweet animals that He brought into our lives.
He created each and every one of them, and I truly believe that they know the name of Jesus!
When I am praying over my horses, they know. Often times they lower their heads, breathe out as a sign of relief, or soften their eyes in a state of relaxation.
If the birds in the trees, the waves of the sea, and the colors of the sky all respond to God’s voice, then I want nothing more than to also follow the sound of His voice.
This is your moment to go grab your furry friend that you love so much and let God do what He does best and love you through them!
Journal Prompt:
If you have animals, do you find that they are therapeutic? Try praying over your animals and write down their response to you. If you don’t have animals, when was the last time you saw the beauty of God in nature?
