Thankful Spirit
As we celebrate Thanksgiving day, I want us to be encouraged to turn our eyes to the one we should be most thankful for. Jesus!
It's easy to get caught up in the holiday spirit and quickly rush through Thanksgiving day, spending hours in the kitchen, preparing to feed your family, and dreading the cleanup afterward.
We can easily forget to fix our minds on what we are thankful for because we're too focused on making sure that our food turns out perfectly. I am so very guilty of this. And if I'm being completely honest with you guys, I sometimes feel like I'm rushing through Thanksgiving so that I can fully jump into my Christmas Spirit, as if I'm bypassing Thanksgiving to get to Christmas quicker. This is not the mindset we should be in, especially during such a thankful season.
I've been challenged this week to truly fix my eyes on Jesus, the one I am most thankful for. The one from whom all blessings flow.
It's honestly refreshing to just let your mind focus simply on Jesus and be grateful for those around you that love and support you and are there to celebrate this same very season with you.
When your mind is refreshed and not overwhelmed, you're able to see things through a different light.
My horses have been showing up for me in so many ways this past week, leaving me in tears on multiple days because of how grateful I am for them!
I encourage you to surround yourself with things that remind you of your gratitude and try to wake up every day with a refreshed mindset during this holiday season. Today is a special day of Thanksgiving, but we should challenge ourselves every day to have a thankful heart.
And as we enter into Christmas season, remember this one thing: Jesus is the reason for the season! We wouldn't have Christmas without Him! So let's rejoice and be glad, thanking him every day for all of the blessings He provides!
